Title:
HOGAN: A Monstrous Faith

Status:
Novel in progress

Synopsis:
Kentown, December 1987.
As Christmas approaches, the city retreats into its certainties and respected institutions. Among them, the Catholic orphanage Angel Wings stands as a symbol of moral order and protection.

At that time, Robert Hogan is still far from the end of his career. He has no official reason to take interest in the orphanage. Yet a series of minor details — a child’s words, behaviors learned too early, a lingering silence — begins to draw his attention.

Hogan observes. Listens. Assembles without haste. What once seemed irreproachable slowly starts to fracture. Refusing both easy assumptions and rushed accusations, he follows a discreet path where every choice carries weight.

HOGAN: A Monstrous Faith explores one of the investigations that shaped Hogan’s method and outlook, long before the events of Hymn of Irony.
A story in which truth does not impose itself — it allows itself to be approached, slowly.
